German lawmakers voted to significantly increase defense and infrastructure spending.
We approved the voting on Tuesday, two -thirds of the Bundestag members needed to change.
This law will exempt expenditures for defense and security from Germany’s strict debt rules and create an infrastructure fund of 50 billion euros ($ 547 billion, £ 42 billion).
This voting is traditionally owed and historic to Germany, and it can be a great help to Europe after a full -fledged invasion of Ukraine in Russia, and US President Donald Trump ordered an uncertain promise in NATO and Europe.

However, the state representatives of Bundesrat’s Upper House must continue to approve movements by two -thirds before they officially become law. The vote was set on Friday.
Friedrich Merz, behind this plan, told the House of Representatives on Tuesday that he had “felt a false security sense” in the last decade in Tuesday discussions.
“The decision we decided today may be the first major stage for the new European defense community,” he added.
Germany has long been careful about defense spending due to the global debt crisis in 2009, as well as historical reasons that go back to 1945.
But despite the fear that the voting would be tight, the lawmakers voted in favor of the change from 513 to 207.
One of the main newspapers in Germany described this vote as “day of destiny of our country.”
In accordance with this bill, expenditures for defense equivalent to more than 1% of the German GDP are no longer limited to borrowing. So far, this debt brake has been fixed to 0.35%of GDP.
This change can change the nation’s partially ignored army in the era of great uncertainty in Europe.
And this vote is not just about defense. It was also to release 50 billion euros for the German infrastructure. Green Party claimed to fix things like legs and roads and pay climate change measures.

MERZ, which the CDU party wins the German general election last month, promptly proposed measures after the victory.
In an interview on Sunday, he mentioned in detail, saying, “The situation has deteriorated in recent weeks,” in a dialogue with Russian President Trump’s Vladimir Putin.
Mertz told the public broadcaster ARD, “We must act quickly.”
When exercising power as a minister, it is now an important political victory for Merz that some of Germany calls “Fiscal Bazooka.”
It’s an important moment for Ukraine. The defense plan approved by Bundestag today also allows the aid for the state that was attacked by the violation of international law.
This will allow you to release 3 billion euros in Ukraine earlier next week.
MERZ decided to promote change through the Gu’s parliament, knowing that voting arithmetic is more advantageous than the beginning of March 25th.
The right AFD, which is well performed in the February elections, and the left left LINKE opposite the plan of Merz.
Merz still did not agree with the united agreement to control Germany after winning the election and announced an ambitious plan to establish the government by Easter.
But Germany’s coalition negotiations can continue for months at a time.
