New fires erupted in southern California before US President Donald Trump’s visit to the state.
Fires – called Laguna, Sepulfida, Jebel, Gilman and Burder 2 – on Thursday in the provinces of Los Angeles, San Diego, Fintora and Rivside.
Firefighters made progress in controlling the Hughes fire, which has an area of 10,000 acres in Los Angeles, and contained 36% since its outbreak on Wednesday.
The fires destroyed the American state over the past few weeks, as fires of lymphis and Etone have devoured a total of more than 37,000 acres and killed at least 28 people.
This is the current situation of fires, according to the California Forest and Forest Protection: Cal Fire:
- Border 2 fire in San Diego extends over 4250 acres. The evacuation orders are currently present. It contains 10%.
- Laguna fire in Ventura covers 94 acres and 70 % of it was controlled
- The Sibulida fire in Los Angeles extends over an area of 45 acres, and 60% of it contained. In an update published on the X website, the Los Angeles Fire Department said it had prevented the spread of the fire and the evacuation orders were raised
- The Gibl fire broke out in the Riverid County on an area of 15 acres. The firefighters managed to stop the progress of the fire. It contained 50%.
- The forest fire is called Gilman in San Diego Fedin, but the progress of the fire was stopped
Trump Los Angeles is scheduled to visit on Friday to inspect the damage caused by forest fires, after he stopped for the first time in North Carolina to monitor the destruction left by Hurin Helen in September.
During his visit to North Carolina, Trump told reporters that he was “disappointed” in the Biden administration’s dealings with disaster relief in that state, and said he would “fix” “the huge amount of damage.”
Trump also criticized the response to California fires, and threatened to block federal assistance if the state fails to change the way it runs water supply.
Trump has made the fingers to the governor of California State Javin Newsum and claimed that the state is suffering from water problems because it turned supplies to save a small fish called “scent”.
He also said he wanted the state to implement the voter identity laws.
“After that, I will be the greatest president of California ever known,” Trump said.
California does not usually require an identity card to vote, but it needs to be registered to vote.
“The imposition of conditions on the aid provided to American citizens is wrong,” the Newsum office said in a statement on social media.
BBC told the BBC that Trump will not reject the federal assistance to the state.
He said: “The most important thing we focus on is the delivery of federal aid to California, to these societies in which people have lost their lives and homes.”
Trump also criticized the work of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) – in charge of responding to such disasters – under the Biden Administration.
He suggested getting rid of the agency and allowing the American states to manage disaster in its judicial states.
During his statements to reporters on Friday in North Carolina, he said that “the Federal Emergency Management Agency was not doing it” in that state.
He pointed out that some residents are still lacking electricity or hot water, and this is “absolutely unacceptable.”
BBC has contacted the Federal Comment Agency.
On Thursday, Governor Newsum announced a $ 2.5 billion state aid package (2 billion pounds) to deal with fire damage.
The Hughes fire, the third largest fire in the state, was forced after fires of Palisades and Etone, tens of thousands of people to evacuate after its outbreak on Wednesday.
According to Cal Fire, the crews managed to make progress in a rapidly spread fire on Thursday.
According to the BBC weather, Los Angeles is at risk of fires today, with quick winds.
It is expected that rain during the weekend in the province, as well as snow in the mountains of southern California.
However, while this will help firefighting efforts, there are fears that it may also cause floods and displacement of fires from fires, which leads to clay collapses.
Specialized sets work to try to secure burned areas, while sand bags and other flood prevention supplies have been distributed to the locals so that they can protect their property.
Twenty -three people died in 2018 when The clay collapses struck the city of Montesito, CaliforniaIt is one of the areas recently affected by the Thomas fire.
