The young South African girl, who disappeared last year, was heard that the age of six was pursued by a traditional therapist for her eyes and fair complexion.
This is one of the claims from Kelly Smith, the mother of Joshlin Smith, accused of coordinating her kidnapping.
MS Smith, her boyfriend Jacquen Appollis and their friend Steveno van Rhyn I did not guilty For alleged trafficking and kidnapping.
In February 2024, the disappearance of Josh Schirin was sentenced to Saldanha Bay near Cape Town, and he sent shockwaves throughout South Africa, and were not yet found despite the highly promoted search for her.
Smith said that Josh Clean, initially fair complexion and turquoise eyes, left her after leaving for care of Appollis.
The prosecution later accused her “arm, delivery or exchange” and lied about her disappearance.
The trial in the third week is held at Salana’s Community Center.
During the first week of trial, the court heard the details of the day when Josh Lin was missing.
The court also seemed calm during the enthusiastic search and seemed more concerned about his boyfriend’s whereabouts than the missing child.
In the second week, more shocking details appeared.
A local pastor said that by 2023, three mothers, Smith, had heard that they would sell their children to 20,000 lands ($ 1,100, £ 850), but she would be willing to accept a low level of $ 275.
Joshlin’s teacher insisted in the court that she had already told her that her daughter had already been “on belly, inside the container and went to Africa.”
This revelation was noticeable when compared to the explosive details of Smith’s friend and neighbor, Lourentia Lombaard.
She caught a stand on Thursday Thursday and explained in detail the event on the disappearance of Joshlin related to traditional therapists known as “Shoes” in South Africa for three days.
Lombard insisted that her friend confessed to her.
Joshlin’s mother promised people who knew plans for silence, Lombaard said.
She later told her that she later witnessed SMITH’s packaging Joshlin’s clothes in a black bag, seeing her carrying her as she walked to meet a woman who believed Sangoma.
My mother and daughter rode in a white car and ran away with a woman, Lombaard said.
Mr. Lombad spoke on the last day and the last day [allegedly took] Joshlin wanted her for her eyes and skin. “
It was not clear why SANGOMA wanted this child in court.
A woman, who was considered a traditional healer, was first arrested and prosecuted with Mr. Smith and co -accused last year, but lacked evidence, eventually suspended for her.
SANGOMAS is legally recognized in South Africa with the 2007 Traditional Health Practice Act, along with herbs, traditional birth crews and traditional surgeons.
It is believed that the spirit of ancestors can provide advice and healing through culturally respected practitioners.
Some Charlatans are known to be involved in immoral traditional so -called treatments and sell lucky charms related to the body.
Lombard expressed his sadness about her role in Joshlin’s disappearance, saying that Smith did not sell her daughter.
She appealed to the person who took the young girl, “Please leave her.”
The trial is expected to proceed until March 28.
