The retention lists for each of the eight pages are completed, with each playing detachment to be held on eight teams from 2024.
“This is a big decision for me, not the one I have taken lightly,” Moeen said.
“In the last few days I have made a decision, considering what I think is best for me and my family at this stage of my career.
“I’m still passionate about the game and I want to play as much as I can. I still like to play. I still have a passion for the game and I like to be on the team.
“I also enjoy talking to players about the crisis, tactics, and I think it will help me to start coaching smoothly after my playing days have been over.
“I returned to Warwicksshire with the aim of trying to help them win the explosion and I still want to play a role this year. I’ll be available to play during the Game Blast Group, and I would love to be included as a player.”
Moeen is the second big name player sitting this year’s hundredth tournament – the last happened before the influx of private investment money – after the decision of Alex Hales not to return to Trent Rockets 2025.
