Vitor Pereira has been dealing with wolves in the long run ahead of a football conflict on Friday night with Manchester City.
Wolves are in a rich form of form with six wins on a bounce while traveling to the Etihad stadium – live on Sky Sports – Take over the city side with the aim of securing the Champions League qualification after the indifferent league season.
Pereira signed only an 18-month contract when he inherited Gary O’Neil earlier this year, but former head of Fenerbahce and Corinthians insists that he is very planning a future in Wolves.
Despite the speculation about potential departures such as Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri this summer, he is convinced that Wolves can continue to build on their recent progress under him, provided he can maintain most of his team.
“We know what we want to achieve. We create our idea. Not only in the short term, but we want to build in the future,” he said Sky Sports News.
“I believe we can compete in this Premier League, which is the best league in the world.
“Of course, you can’t lose a lot of players to build something strong, because if you lose a lot of players, we start from the beginning.
“The identity exists. We know how to play, how to defend ourselves, how to attack, if we want to go fast or if we have to keep the ball.
“We can (of course) improve our quality in possession of different movements. We try to put something more in our dynamics, but we can’t lose a lot of players.
“If you lose a lot of players in the next market, it will be a problem because we have to renew ourselves again. We’ll see what’s going on.
“Of course, that’s normal – we can lose two or three players, but if you lose 10, that’s a problem. But I think we know (this) in the club and they want to build something strong in the future.
“I don’t want to play anymore to avoid relegation, I want to play to compete in a good team in the middle of the table, competing when we play at home and far away and compete with the spirit to win.”
Man City has looked more like himself in recent weeks, and he has won three on Bounce without an attacker of Star Erling Haaland, who will not be ready to return against Wolves.
He perei is looking forward to locking the horns with Pep Guardiola, a coach he considers a pioneer in the vein of one of the great artists and innovators of history, Leonarda da Vinci.
“To compete in three points, this is our focus,” Periers said. “Against a manager who is the top world class.
“I used to say that it was a Vinci in football, because someone who creates new ideas and not afraid to try, try and try and try.
“He is someone who looks at the future. He is a special manager.
“Of course, they will have more possessions than us. But I believe it is possible to compete and create a chance to achieve results. Of course, we have to defend ourselves well.”
