Button: over the next two weeks we rank baseball best players in every position – and short rates are absurdly filled. This is one of the deepest classes with a short table and after the infusion of a young talent, it increased on prominentness, and the elite player decided to make a defensive switch with full -time.
Our eight -part series of position players continues here, and the top 10 short strips enter the 2025 season.
10. Dansby Swanson,, Chicago Cubs
2024: .242/.312/.390, 16 HR, 99 WRC+, 4.3 fwar
2025 ZIPS: .245/.315/.400, 18 hours, 102 WRC+, 4.1 fwar
The former first -team selection fought strongly last year, noting its worst ops of 2018 and forcing the cub to lower it to eighth place in the order of hitting. Swanson -O’s skill that returns to his career norm will be key to a Kyle Tucker-The helpful team of CUBS, who hopes to pass it after the post-season circle for the first time since 2017.
9. Trea Turner,, Philadelphia Phillies
2024: .295/.338/.469, 21 HR, 124 WRC+, 3.9 Fwar
2025 ZIPS: .287/.335/.462, 21 HR, 120 WRC+, 4.4 fwar
The Turner numbers have been silent silently in the last few years, and his age (32) probably has a lot to do with it. But he still projects that he would be 20-20 players for Phillies, where he could help him with the guidance of a stroke and step up his chances. But Fer is to examine if this is the last year that Turner will appear in our top-10 short table ladders, because his defensive value is still a trend down.
8. Willy Adames,, San Francisco Giants
2024: .251/.331/.462, 32 HR, 119 WRC+, 4.8 fwar
2025 ZIPS: .246/.319/.430, 23 HR, 110 WRC+, 4.2 fwar
Adames enters his 29 -year -old season, setting up his career in domestic races, running, couples, stolen bases and games that are played for Breweries In 2024, now, at the Oracle Park, a custom-made thrower in a new team in a new division, a short stop has a challenge of maintenance of this quality performance-an even strength falling.
7. Carlos Corre,, Minnesota twins
2024: .310/.388/.517, 14 HR, 155 WRC+, 4.3 fwar
2025 ZIPS: .272/.354/.456, 18 hours, 130 WRC+, 4.1 fwar
The testament is Corre’s pure talent that he remains the top 10 short trails in MLB despite the fight with plantation fasciitis and lack a significant time in the last few seasons. Last year, Correa only played 86 games, but enjoyed the All-Star season before hitting the injured list in July. Veteran Shortstop has a lot of hope that he will play the whole season this year, aiming to help the twins win their first world series since 1991.
6. Elly da La Cruz,, Cincinnati Reds
2024: .259/.339/.471, 25 HR, 118 WRC+, 6.4 fwar
2025 ZIPS: .263/.335/.472, 25 HR, 117 WRC+, 5.0 fwar
Edlc has collected his first career of All-Star Honor and led the MLB with 67 stolen bases in his first full season in the big leagues last year. The 23-year-old is a scene that can see and can go through the failure that follows his raw talent, this year he could take a step forward by relying on his five tools and adding experience that should slow down the game for Reds’ noisy superstar.
5. Corey Seager,, Texas Rangers
2024: .278/.353/.512, 30 HR, 140 WRC+, 4.5 fwar
2025 ZIPS: .281/.359/.511, 28 HR, 143 WRC+, 5.3 fwar
The double winner of the championship remains one of the most powerful shots in sports, and was considered the best glove on short trails. Despite missing about 40 games in 2023 and 2024, Seager has been fighting for a season of 30 hours in the fourth year in a row. When healthy, he is capable of being the best short table in majorettes, and still finds a way to be a top high influence player no matter how much time he can miss with the injury.
4. Mookie Betts,, Los Angeles Dodgers
2024: .289/.372/.491, 19 HR, 141 WRC+, 4.4 fwar
2025 ZIPS: .283/.381/.495, 24 HR, 145 WRC+, 5.1 fwar
Betts would be classified in the top five of any position that he decides to play, which is no exception because the Dodgers re -depend on him to make a man the most severe defense positions in a baseball. Skipper Dave Roberts said Betts “unfinished job” shortly after he broke his left hand last June, missed for two months, and then returned to the right field for Dodgers. If it is done this year, Betts could only become a third player in history to win a Golden Rubber Award in multiple positions.
3. Gunnar Henderson,, Baltimore Orioles
2024: .281/.364/.529, 37 HR, 155 WRC+, 8.0 fwar
2025 ZIPS: .274/.359/.495, 28 HR, 144 WRC+, 6.1 fwar
In 2023, the new year of the year is expected to improve in his second season as an axis of working hours and this should be scary for opponents. Henderson has high expectations after reducing the impact rate and increased the walking rate of 2024. Last year, he ended the fourth in the complex class of Al MVP last year and, as long as he can remain healthy, has a legitimate path to winning the 2025 Award.
2. Francisco Lindor,, New York Mets
2024: .273/.344/.500, 33 HR, 137 WRC+, 7.8 fwar
2025 ZIPS: .260/.337/.462, 27 HR, 125 WRC+, 6.0 fwar
Lindor became The most underrated superstar in MLB Ever since he traded in Mets four years ago, but he is still a top three short rates in the league after he scored last year in the middle of the National League MVP interview, he eventually finished second to Shohei ohtani. Lindorova 53.3 fwar since the season of Rokie 2015 has been running all active short rats, and it’s not a little close.
1. Bobby Witt Jr,, Kansas City Royals
2024. Statistics: .332 /.389/588, 32 HR, 168 WRC+, 10.4 FWAR
2025. ZIPS projections: .288/.343/.517, 29 HR, 135 WRC+, 6.1 fwar
Fresh of runner-up placement at MVP American League, recording the top average in the main leagues, it is amazing to think that we have not yet seen Witt’s best season. This year he is entering his season at the age of 25, and is probably the most fun baseball player after sharpening his defense. All eyes will be on Witt, the fastest player in MLBwhile trying to throw out a season of 30-30 for the third year in a row.
