Viktor Hovland jumped into a shot halfway through the PGA Tour championship, where Shane Lowry and Xander Schauffele are also in the dispute.
Hovland struggled with his momentum over the past year and missed the cut in four of his last five world starts, but found himself in connection with the weekend in Florida’s resort in Innisbrook after the second round 67.
Former FedExcup champion mixed five birds with a lonely sword to move to five, related to Byeong Hun and Ryo Hisatsune, as Jacob Bridgeman published two-north 69 to move the top of the leading board.
“I still don’t know where the ball will start and curl all these things,” Hovland said. “But if you hit solid shots, it’s a good start, especially here when the wind starts blowing. It still doesn’t feel so great, but at least it is improvement.”
Bridgeman had an advantage with two goals until the 18th four -meter passage by the couple, while Hisatsune birds were three of his last five holes to join An and Hovland in one of the leadership.
Lowry started a dream to his second round with six birds in his first eight holes, starting with nine nine in cold morning conditions, just to lose first place after finishing with two boogets in the last seven.
“I played those nine holes quite flawlessly and I didn’t really miss many shots,” Lowry said. “Unfortunately, I wasn’t so good at the other nine.”
Schauffele extended his consecutive set of cuttings at 60 and sits on his heel with Lowry, Kevin Veli and Jeremy Paul, while English Harry Hall remains within three of the leadership after a circle of 69 and 70.
The congested plates of water sees that everyone who made a cut within eight strokes of halfway, with the former Adam Scott in the world needed two birds in the last three holes to achieve them on the number.
