Rome – Papa Francis rested during the calm night after the respiratory crisis and blood transfusion, the Vatican said Sunday.
Vatican’s spokesman Matteo Bruni did a monotal statement mentioned if Francis was up or eat breakfast.
A short update arrived after the doctors said 88-year-old Pope that had part of a single lungs removed as a young man, was in critical condition. On Saturday morning, he suffered an extended asthmatic respiratory crisis as it was treated for pneumonia and complex lung infection.
The Pope received “high” oxygen flows to help him breathe. He also received blood transfusions after tests showed low tarel panel, which are needed to clot, said Vatican in late update.
Saturday statement also said Pontiff “still be excited and spent a day in the armchair even though in more pain than yesterday.” The doctors said that the forecast “was retained.”
The doctors said Francis’s condition, and that was aflower, given his age, fragility and existing lung disease and that the main threat to him is if the infection enters the bloodstream, serious condition known as sepsis.
