He noted that 80 years after the end of World War II, the war in Ukraine stands as a serious threat not only to peace and security of Europe, but also on the independent foundations and the UN fundamental principles.
“Enough enough,” he said. “After three years of death and destruction, I once again refer to the emergency de-escalation and the immediate end of hostilities.”
The Secretary-General said he welcomed all efforts in only inclusive peace, adding that the UN was ready to support those initiatives.
