World no. 1 Luke Humphries admitted that he needed a break from the darts after being left “emotionally” from playing too many games.
Humphries, which is shown weekly in the Premier League, participated this weekend at the International Darts Open in Germany – his 11th tournament appearance of 2025.
World Champion 2024 says that his mental state was influenced by a ruthless schedule, which he marked with a trifle.
“I feel a little without emotions,” Humphories said. “I feel like I’m here and my emotions are everywhere.
“Not that I don’t want to be here, it seems bored right now. I play too much.
“I have to give something, I need a break. It’s not good for my mental state.”
Humphories’ comments have encouraged a return reaction on social networks, and fans have accused the 30-year-old of separating from the real world.
Humphries published an emotional response to criticism, which he said would distract him from ever expressing his true feelings to the public.
“Considering comments, people who don’t understand what I thought … (this) will be the last time I ever admit my real feelings for the public,” he said.
“Everything I ever say or just never seem enough for anyone …
“Until no one complains when we all give the same answers in interviews like robots, not our true feelings. Then everyone for which I guess will be happy, or as usual, they will continue to find a way to moan us.”
