Gary Neville says Manchester United needs five new signatures to match Ruben Amorim.
United 13th in the Premier League after withdrawing 0-0 on Sunday in Manchester City on Sunday, winning only two of his last eight league matches.
Amorim got stuck with his favored formation of 3-4-3 with different success after signing the left back of Patrick Dorgua in a 30m-pound contract from Lecce during the winter transmission-Ali Heavenly sports’ Neville believes they need a lot of accessories.
“From a united perspective, I understand why he returned to a low block,” Neville said. “But we saw that from Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik Ten Hag.
“Everyone came in with the intention of playing high printing, high -energy football, but everyone returns to a low block in big games.
“I understand why Ruben Amorim did it today, with players he has because he didn’t have players to adapt.
“They need five new players immediately before you even think about the rest.
“Three ahead are not good enough and two wings, they are not good enough. They need five players. They have to serve with five players who are good enough in this system to play their system the way they want.”
Neville was disappointed with “love inches” between Manchester Derby’s full-time players who “tell you that both teams are satisfied with 0-0”.
In his press conference after the match, Amorim replied: “I understand that Gary Neville is critical of everything. I understand that we have the worst season in history. Manchester City has won everything in the past, but this season we are fighting. So we are not in the best moments that we give the best spectacle to fans. We don’t fight for big things.
“I understand the critical aspect of players who played in this game in a different way because they fought for the titles every time. It’s a different context.”
‘Elanga, Rashford, Welbeck are better than current attackers’
Speaking before drawing 0-0 with Man City, Neville compared United’s current forward with those who left.
“No Manchester United manager since Sir Alex Ferguson, except Louis Van Gaal, could dominate the possession games. That’s the real problem.
“Players are not just the qualities needed in the club in advance. That sounds really sharp, but that’s true.
“He will need smart employment, it means ejecting players for favorable prices and getting players who are underestimated – this is what all teams are trying to do in the league!
“You could present more four players who are not in Manchester United – Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford, Danny Welbeck and Scott Mctominay behind them – would make much better than the current players as four in front.
“United released players – and I’m not saying they were the current solution. But they replaced players who were not on the standard, with players who are not at that level.”
