The German alternative Für Deutschland (AFD) Party was designated as a right -wing extremist by the Federal Office of the State for the Constitution.
In the statement, the Korea Intelligence Agency said, “The concept of people based on the ethnicity and ancestors in the party cannot be compatible with liberal democracy.”
AFD was second in the February federal elections and gained 20.8%of votes in 630 seats.
Congress (Bundestag) will vote next week to confirm the conservative leader Friedrich Merz.
The top priority AFD was already observed for extremism suspected in Germany, and the Intelligence Agency was also classified as right -wing extremists in three states in the most popular East.
The agency (Verfassungschutz) said AFD did not regard the “migration background from Muslim countries” as an equal member of the German people.
The Minister of Home Affairs, Nancy Faeser, said the agency made a comprehensive review of “no political impact”.
Due to the change in AFD designation, it is thought that domestic intelligence agencies can use the information source for monitoring and lower the threshold for monitoring.
