When Shanghai Guo Qingshan’s designer posted a photo of the Holy Day and inscribed by “Puppy Mountain”, she became a sensation in China, and she even created a tourist destination.
Guo went on a trip while visiting his hometown of Yichang in the central Chinese province of Hubei in late January. When viewing photos, he saw something he had not yet noticed: a mountain in the shape of a dog resting on the ground next to the Yangtze River, his muzzle on the edge of the water.
“It was so magical and sweet. I was so excited and happy when I discovered it,” Guo said.
“Puppy holding is like drinking water or looking at some fish. She also seems to be peacefully protecting the Yangtze River,” he said.
GUO post on Chinese social media App XiaoHongshu or Rednot, received 120,000 Likes within 10 days. On the media platform Weibo, Hashtag #xiaogoushan – Chinese for “Puppy Mountain” – drawn millions of views.
Dog owners have begun to publish pictures of their dogs to see which one had the closest similarity. Many traveled directly to the location in Yichang to see the mountain for themselves, and some even led to their dogs to paint photos.
“Puppy Mountain here I am!” One social media user wrote about the detail together with the photos of the mountain. “I just hit a puppy head and then everything will be fine.” Another social media user commented on: “We all need eyes to see beauty in this world.”
Yang Yang, who lives about an hour and half from the location, drove there with his friends and her two-year-old gray poodle named Yang Key.
“I was really happy to see the mountain,” she said. “I always travel with my dog if possible so that Puppy mountain and my little dog really fit.”
The mountain is in Yichang Zigui County, where can be seen from the observation deck. Yangtze River, the longest river in China and the third longest river in the world, flows through the mountainous area.
After Guo’s Photo went virus, many shared photos of views that previously taken from the same deck, many saying they didn’t realize he looked like a dog. Some talked to how the look of the dog changed over the years.
Yichang Resident Shi Tong said he knew he saw the mountain before and published a photograph he recorded at 2021. years.
“After seeing a music photo of Puppy Online, I tried to look where he was there. And then I realized I was in this place earlier. I thought it was like a dog at the time.”
