Canelo Alvarez wants to add Chris Eubank JR to his list of British scalp and would be ready to come to the UK to do so.
Turks Alalshikh said Sky Sports in February that the winner Eubank Jr against Conor Benna would be in line to secure a shot at Canela 2026.
EUBANK won a unanimous decision on Saturday Tottenham’s showdown to live the dream alive, although it was contracted to face Benna in the rematch later this year.
Canelo is preparing to face William Scull in Saudi Arabia this weekend, but opened the door with Eubank.
“So far I’ve been beating eight Britons?” Said Canelo in an interview with The Ring. “Well, then there will be nine.
“I want to fight in the UK and I promise to do it. I don’t know exactly where but I’ll do it.
“Would people like to see me against Chris Eubank Jr? Maybe it’s a fight. It’s a fight I would think, but we don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Canelo, meanwhile, is allegedly facing a non -pound for pounds, in September, in Las Vegas in Las Vegas in what has become one of the greatest struggles in modern boxing history.
The Mexican was last struggling with the British opponent in 2023, when he defeated John Ryder with a unanimous decision, previously prevailed by Billy Joe Saunders, Calluma Smith, Rocky Fielding, Liama Smith, Amira Khan, Ryan Rhodes and Matthew Hattton.
“We’ll see what happens, but I think the fight between me and Eubank is big, right?” Canelo added.
“I think it’s all I want. I want to enjoy everything I do now. I have achieved everything in boxing. Maybe I could beat more world champions, but I want to be in big fights and big events.”
Speaking solely for Sky Sports, for the first time since his victory over Benn, Eubank insisted that “watch this space” given what might follow him.
“Boxing is a very beautiful industry where everything can happen,” he said. “The possibilities are endless. If a rematch is intended, it will be.
“And if not, guess what? There are plenty of other amazing fights to have. And great things I can achieve in sports.
Eubank confirmed his desire to take over Canelo in the near future, in what he believes he is waiting for another sale.
“It’s another stadium filler, absolutely,” said Eubank Jr.
“Wembley, Tottenham, any of the big football stadiums in the UK will be filled for such a fight.
“He is an opponent I have been watching for many years. And fans would love to see it. So 100 percent that is a name in my visual line.
“And we will do everything we can to secure that fight in the future.”
