
Russian President Vladimir Putin declared “Easter ceasefire” until the end of Sunday and ordered Ukraine to “stop all military activities.”
He added that the 30 -hour truce will continue to 22:00 BST (Moscow Time) on Sunday, the Russian army must be ready to respond to “possible violations.”
Ukrainian President VolodyMyr Zelensky accused Putin’s attempt to play with human life, but he did not say whether Ukraine agreed to stop in the fight.
Zelensky said Russian drones were detected in the sky of Ukraine just before the armistice was fermented.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andri Shibiha wrote that Ukraine has already agreed to the US proposal for the 30 -day armistice.
“Unfortunately, we had a long history of his statement that did not match his actions. We know that his words are unbelievable, and we will see actions, not words.”
Putin announced a temporary ceasefire at a meeting with the president, Valery Gerasimov.
Putin said, “Based on humanitarian considerations … Russia announced an Easter ceasefire. I ordered to stop all military activities at this time,” Putin said.
“We assume that Ukraine will follow our exemplary. At the same time, our army must be prepared to prevent enemy ceasefire, possible violations of provocations, and aggressive actions.”
The Russian Defense Ministry said the army would comply with the ceasefire if the army was “mutual respect” by Ukraine.
In January 2023, the previous attempts on the ceasefire during the Orthodox Christmas collapsed after the two sides did not agree to the proposal.

Russia began full -scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers are estimated to have been killed or injured everywhere.
The United States has directly talked directly to Russia as part of its efforts to end the war, but is struggling to make great progress.
Last month, Moscow rejected a complete and unconditional ceasefire proposal agreed by the United States and Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump warned that Washington would “pass” if Washington broked his further dialogue on the end of the Ukrainian war if there was no fast development.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States said, “We will not continue this effort for several weeks and months.”
“We must decide very quickly now. And I am talking about a few days of whether this is possible.”
“Otherwise, we will just continue.”
