Romania’s top priority, Calin Georgescu, appealed to the Central Election Bureau (BEC) of the country.

The Constitutional Court Judge will discuss the appeal of Georgescu on Tuesday afternoon and must make the final decision by Wednesday evening.

BEC rejected his candidate on Sunday after 10-4 votes because Georgescu violated the obligation to defend democracy.

Last year, the court announced its first round of voting in November.

Georgescu said in his appeal that “BEC exceeded legal authority.” He also argued that the Constitutional Court’s decision on the November elections should not be related to the candidate for the upcoming vote in May.

In social media posts, Georgescu also called the ban on “direct blow at the center of democracy around the world.”

The decision of the election bureau was anxious at Bukkurestee on Sunday evening. There was a conflict between the police and Georgescu supporters gathered by thousands of people outside the BEC office.

The BBC saw at least one car upside down and the nearby bar was broken. At least four people were detained. More protests are expected after Monday and after that.

Georgescu released a video to the social media that thanked Romanians, but “We should not produce violence or other forms compared to the last night. We are moving forward with great confidence in the future of this country.”

George Simion, the leader of the best opposition alliance against Romanian (AUR), George Sku’s alliance and parliamentary party’s second largest political party, said Monday Romania was “in the middle of a coup.”

In Sunday night video, George Simion is “I like Calin Georgescu, or he is a Romanian voted person.”

The Romanian prosecutor general said he opened a case of Zion about the business of violence, and on Monday he said he was using “metaphors.”

On February 26, GeorgeScu questioned that he was nominated for candidates in the May election, and urged tens of thousands of Romanians to march in the streets of Bucharesti.

The fierce EU and NATO critics, Georgescu, came out almost anywhere last year. Two weeks ago, I led my first round two weeks ago for alleged Russian interference. He later saw the support of the Trump administration.

Last month, Vice President JD Vance accused Romania’s invalidation of elections based on Romania’s information and “silly suspicion.”

Trump adviser Elon Musk told X: “How can the judge end democracy in Romania?”
