The Ukrainian soldiers fighting in the Russian Kursk area described the scene like the “horror movie” when retreating from the forefront.
The BBC received a wide range of records from the Ukrainian army, recalling a “fatal” withdrawal facing heavy fire, and the pillars of military equipment were constantly attacked in the Russian drone.
Soldiers who talked about social media were nicknamed to protect their identity. Ukraine explained the “collapse” that lost the biggest city, Sudzha.
The Ukrainian restriction on the previous trip meant that it was impossible to get a full picture of the situation. But this is how five Ukrainian soldiers portrayed us what happened to us.
VOLODYMYR: ‘Drone around the Clock’
On March 9, “VOLODYMYR” sent a telegram post to the BBC.
The Ukrainian army said, “We are trying to leave the pillars of the army and equipment. Some of them are burned by Russian drones on the road. It is impossible to leave during the day.”
The movement of men, logistics and equipment depended on one main path between Sudzha and Ukraine’s SUMY region.
VolodyMyr said that he can travel relatively safely a month ago. Until March 9, “I controled the drone for 24 hours under the enemy’s fire control. I can see two or three drones in one minute,” he said.
“We have all the logistics in one Sudzha-sumy highway here. [Russians] I will try to cut it. But this was again surprised by our commands. ”
Just before writing, just before Russia’s reconsideration of Sudha, VolodyMyr said that the Ukrainian army is under pressure on three aspects.
MAKSYM: Please write the road as a garbage for the truck wrapped.
According to the telegram message of “Maksym”, on March 11, Ukrainian military was fighting to prevent road cuts.
“A few days ago, we were ordered to leave the defense line with organized retreats,” he added.
Military experts estimated that Russia collected up to 70,000 troops to rebuild the customs, including about 12,000 North Korea.
Russia also sent the best drone unit to the front and used “fire control of the main logistics path” using Kamikaze and first -person views (FPV) modifications.
This includes a drone connected to the operator of the fiber wire.
Maksym said, “I was able to destroy dozens of equipment, and” the shipwreck was “crowded on the supply line.”

Anton: Disaster of retreat
On March 11, the situation of the day was described as “fatal” by “Anton”.
The third soldier that the BBC said was served at Kursk Front headquarters.
He emphasized the damage caused by Russian FPV drones. “We had an advantage in the drone. Now it’s not,” he said. He added that Russia has more accurate raids and more troops.
Anton said the supply line was cut. “Logistics no longer work -organized delivery of weapons, ammunition, food and water is no longer possible.”
Anton said he could walk on foot at night. “We’ve died almost many times. Drones are always in heaven.”
The soldiers predicted that Ukraine’s entire foothold would be lost in Koursk, but “from a military point of view, the direction of Kursk was tired of himself. There is no need to maintain anymore.”
Western officials estimated that Ukraine’s customs offensive are related to about 12,000 troops. They were part of the best trained soldiers equipped with western supply weapons, including tanks and armored cars.
Russian bloggers posted a video showing that some of the equipment were destroyed or captured. On March 13, Russia said that Kursk’s situation is “under our control,” Ukraine said, “abandoned most of the materials.”
DMYTRO: Inches from death
From March 11th to 12th, the fourth frenzy “DMYTRO” in the social media post compared the retreat to the scene of the horror movie.
“There are hundreds of destroyed cars, armored vehicles, and ATVs scattered on the road. There are many injuries and deaths.”
He said that the car was often hunted by several drones.
He described his narrow escape when his car was stupid. He and his fellow soldiers tried to push the car freely when they became the target of another FPV drone.
It missed the car but injured one of his comrades. He said he should hide in the forest for two hours before being rescued.
DMYTRO said many Ukrainians retreated with “walking 20 km from 15 km to 20 km.” He said the situation changed from “difficult and critical and deadly”.
In the message on March 14, DMYTRO added: “Everything was completed in the Kursk area … The operation was not successful.”
He estimated that thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were killed since the first time to Russia in August.

Artem: ‘We fought like Lions’
The fifth soldier sounded less depressed about the situation. On March 13, “Artem” sent a telegram message at a military hospital, where he was treated with fragments suffered by drone attacks.
Artem said Ukrainian army was fighting more west near the village of stiff resistance and “fighting like a lion.”
He believed that the operation had a little success.
“It’s important to have created the Ukrainian army Guy buffer zone so far,” he said.

What is Ukrainian attack?
Ukraine’s best general, Oleksandr Syrskyi, argued that Ukrainian army withdrew “more advantageous” and remained in Kursk.
He said Russia suffered more than 50,000 losses in surgery, including death, injuries or arrested people.
But the current situation is very different from last August. Military analysts estimate that two -thirds of the first 1,000 square meters were lost.
The hope that Ukraine can traded Kursk’s territory on its own.
Last week, President VolodyMyr Zelensky said that Kursk said he believes that Russia has done his mission by attracting the military from the east and relieving the pressure on Pokrovsk.
But the cost is not yet clear.
