Another dream until March.
Football dominates the sports calendar from August to February, then many American bookmakers begin to divert attention to the hoops at colleges. Some are immersed in the toe to test the temperature, while others dive right into the pool.
When we arrive by March, bookmakers are completely conditioned. We watch more hoops during the week, and Saturday is all the balls, all day. For the next few weeks, they truly serve as a test of testing for a test that is NCAA Tournament.
Here is the “Saturday Trifect” for the first day of March, with the odds of February 28.
’25 CBB game (3-3, -0.4 units)
No. 1 Aburn (-4.5, o/at 166.5) @ no. 17 Kentucky
It’s never fun to go against team number 1 in the country, but sometimes you do what you have to do. The teams that make shots can hang out with Auburn. Kentucky checks that very important frame because Wildcats shoot almost 40% with three and close to 60% compared to two. Let’s fill the extra point or so sports books have made you pay for Auburn all season and hope that Big Blue is not going icy from the floor.
Selection: Kentucky (+4.5) to lose for less than 4.5 points or win
State utah (+2.5, o/at 151.5) @ Colorado state
I stand with what I said two weeks ago about the state of Utah. Aggies have a unique offense under Jerodo Calhoun, and they will be a heavy match at the NCAA tournament, especially if they reach the second game of the weekend. I bet the state is wrapped here of loss against a good but not great Colorado state. I do not believe that Rams’ offense has enough versatility to win.
Choosing: Utah State Ml
George Mason (-2.5, o/at 125.5) @ Duquesne
Patriots are absolute pests in defense. You have to really share the sugar in the attack to score and this is not something Duquesne does. Dukes also shoot at a catastrophic 64% on the free throw line. There are only nine divisions teams and worse. George Mason has been tested much more this year (Duke,, Market and Vcu) And I expect them to be sharp tomorrow.
Selection: George Mason (-2.5) to win more than 2.5 points
