Anthony Richardson will face the “open” QB competition 2025, says Colts GM

Anthony Richardson will have the competition to be Indianapolis Colts‘The start of the striker 2025.

Colts CEO Chris Ballard has shared that the team will bring another return player this season with the intention of competing for the initial job with Richardson.

“It will be open,” Ballard told reporters about the COLTS Return Competition in NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday. “It must be someone who can cause a production standpoint.”

Ballard is not concerned about the battle of a return blow that has a negative effect on Richardson.

“It must be a real guy to create the right competition, but we want to create the right competition,” Ballard said. “I think it’s good for that. I think it’s good for Anthony. We drew Anthony High, knowing it would take a while. We knew there would be some hiccups by the way. I know we all want to finish the product right now, do it, We all do that.

Richardson, the fourth overall choice in the NFL draft in 2023, mostly fought to this point in his NFL career. His season of Rookie was interrupted after four games due to the shoulder injury. Last season he threw 1,814 Jarda, eight Touchdown and 12 interceptions to go with 61.6 passers -by in 11 games. He also rushed for 499 meters and six Touchdown.

Although Richardson is in the 11 games that he started, to a great extent in the second year, but not just because of his statistics, he mostly encountered criticism. Richardson voluntarily pulled himself out of the game for the 8th week, saying he needed a “breath”. That play caused the colds to find Richardson for two weeks.

Richardson ended up sitting for the last two weeks of the season due to a back injury after standing aside two weeks earlier in the year with a sloping problem. The 22-year-old missed the games in the season already in his career due to injury.

There are several means at which Colts can gain help. Matthew Stafford is the main name on the market as Los Angeles Rams allegedly allowed him to talk to other teams. Such a move, however, would probably mean that Richardson is no longer Colts’s initial striker.

As for the free agent options, Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Cooper Rush title of veterans who launched a handful of games that will hit the open market last season. Joe Flacco, the primary backup of Richardson 2024, recently turned 40 and was also set up as a free agent.

Colts could also add a return blow to the draft, but they would probably wait until the 2nd or 3rd days to deal with the position.
