The gas conflict was stopped for 42 days after two warring parties agreed to the initial ceasefire in January through the US, Egyptian and Qatari.
Israel and Hamas have in recent days exchanged mutual liquidations over the violations of the transaction, without agreeing on the expansion of the truce to the second stage, which was to end the war and ensure the release of other Israeli hostages that took place in Gaza.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel agreed with the proposal that the US Special Messenger Steve Witco, which would extend the ceasefire for another six weeks, through the Muslim holiday Ramadan and the Jewish Easter.
According to the Netanyahu office, Hamas’s proposal will release half of its other hostages, about 30 people, on the first day of the transaction, when both parties start negotiations on a “constant ceasefire”. Then Hamas is obliged to release all the other hostages, “after all.. If an agreement will be reached,” the Israeli side said.
It remains unclear whether Vitkoff and US Presidential Administration Donald Trump, released by Israel, although analysts believe that such an Israeli statement and shutdown on gas assistance were probably agreed with Washington.
Mahmoud Mordavi, the Hamas press -secretary, immediately rejected the proposal and stated that Israel “repeatedly resumed the agreements he has signed and continues to evade fulfillment of his obligations.”
Mordov once again confirmed the position of the group that in the second stage of ceasefire – to include full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, the permanent end of the war, and the reconstruction of the destroyed territory – should be agreed before additional hostages are released.
“This constant manipulation will not return (hostages) to their families, but, on the contrary, will lead to continued suffering and threaten their lives,” Mordovy added.
According to Netanyahu, Israel said in response that “all the entrances of the goods and supplies to the gas lane will stop,” “Israel will not allow the fire without the release of our hostages. If Hamas continues, there will be the following consequences.”
In a statement, Hamas described this decision as “cheap blackmail, military crime and brazen agreement” and urged international mediators to press on Israel to cancel the move.
The International Oxfa Assistance Group described Israel’s decision to block the newspaper “as a reckless act of collective punishment, clearly banned in accordance with international humanitarian legislation”.
He called for pressure on Israel that “vital assistance is urgently hit in gas” and noted that the International Court ordered Israel to provide large -scale assistance across the gas.
During the initial six -week ceasefire, Hamas released 33 Israeli hostages, eight of which were no longer alive, as well as five foreign workers. Israel, in turn, released more than 1,500 Palestinian prisoners from prison and allowed 4,200 aid trucks to enter gas every week.
Israel detained starting talks in the second stage of ceasefire, which was to start four weeks ago, according to the terms of the initial transaction signed in January. Negotiations on the last ditch at the end of last week in Cairo failed to overcome the gaps between Israel and Hamas.
Netanyahu on Sunday claimed that Israel would return to the war if he considered “negotiations ineffective”, adding that he has guarantees of the US administration for such a step.
US Secretary of State Mark Rubio said on Saturday that he had allowed to speed up $ 4 billion to Israel’s military assistance, changing what he claimed was a “partial arms embargo” by the US President Joe Baden’s concern about high civilian death.
