Mexico City – Three American women were found dead over the weekend at the beach resort in Belize, police announced on Monday, and officials explored death as possible drug overdose.
Belize Police identified women as a 23-year-old Naqqad, 24-year-old inan Mallah and 26-year-old Wafa El-Arara, who stayed at Kahal Beach Royal Resort. Did not publish additional details.
Residential staff tried to contact several times on Friday, after the supervisory recordings showed them to enter their rooms on Thursday evening and not returning, the police said in the statement. After the staff did not receive a response on Saturday morning, they used the main key to entry, and women were found motionless.
The cause of their deaths remained unconfirmed. The first respondents said that women were found with foams on her mouth, suggesting a possible drug overdose.
The police reported that there were no signs of forced enrolled or visible injuries and officers found snacks, liquids, limes and other electronic devices in the women’s room.
Police said they were still investigating.
