Beijing – Fireworks emerged, incense was presented in temples, dancers and drummers on Wednesday in Asia and beyond that, as millions around the world celebrated the new lunar year.
From Beijing to Havana, the vacation – known as the Spring Festival in China, and Tet in Vietnam and Siel in Korea – is a major festival celebrated in many countries. Wednesday represents the beginning of the snake, one of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac.
The crowds of people in the jackets below the Beijing Park for the “Temple Gallery” on a sunny but cold day. Some bells and metal scales rang in containers in the form of golden bars for good luck, while others eaten traditional snacks from food stalls and took pictures with someone wearing the uniform of the god of wealth.
The new lunar year is a time to wish good luck and prosperity next year for itself and others.
“Last year was very busy for me, because I had to take care of my child and my work,” said Jiang Hikang, a Beijing resident. “In the snake year, I hope my child will grow healthy and can remain stable. Then I can be happy enough.”
In Malaysia, the crackdown on the new year gunfire was received outside the Guan de in the capital, Kuala Labor, followed by Assad’s dances on the rhythm of drums and small Kemels.

The government has reduced informal celebrations, as the big cities prohibited the loud fiery caps that echoed around Beijing and left some smoke covered blocs.
Many Chinese benefit from the country and abroad travel. CTRIP, an online reservation agency that runs Trip.com, said that the most popular external destinations this year are Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, the United States, South Korea, Macau and Vietnam.
In Moscow, the Russians chanted, waved and took pictures of smartphones for members of drums, fashion dancers, dragon characters and long snakes held high in a colored procession that started the New Year Festival for 10 days on Tuesday evening.
The depth of Chinese and Russian governments has their relations since 2022, partly to retreat against what they see as the dominance of the world order.
The visitors shouted “Happy New Year” in Russian and expressed his happiness that they are able to experience Chinese food and culture in Moscow, including popular shows and compartments that sell snacks and artwork.
The small Chinese society in Cuba celebrated the new lunar year on Tuesday evening with a display of incandescent lanterns and the tunes that pass through the narrow streets of the Chinese neighborhood.
The island was once home to one of the largest and oldest Chinese societies in the Americas. Now, a much smaller society celebrates the major holidays with the development of Cuban, mixing the rum and cigars with the traditional Chinese cuisine.
