Five clubs in the Scottish League for Premium Women have seen moderate crowds.
This is, according to a new report, says that the women’s football in Scotland is “prosperous”, where more than two million people are also watching SWPL on TV or online last season.
The survey also highlighted – by the Sports Academy at Edinburgh University – that the number is scheduled to be the top of this season.
A total of 25 notes and main recommendations were also made to help develop women’s game, including maximizing international participation and exposure, increasing trade inside and outside the stadiums, and growing crowds at the level of professional elite.
Professor Grant Garvi hopes the report helps “bridge the data gap between women and football for men.”
“These results are incredibly encouraging because they refer to the growing and sharing SWPL fans base.”
“We are really grateful to the University of Edinburgh to conduct this study and provide us with a greater understanding of those who attend the Swpl matches and most importantly, what matters to them. Increase the attendance in the SWPL matches.”
“This report enhances what I have long motivated – women’s football in an exciting path, and this report shows the extent to which SwPL fans and passion shared.”
“The increase in attendance, online participation, and the expertise of positive matches highlights the enormous sport capabilities. The growing numbers reflect a deeper cultural shift, which proves that when football is given to the women the platform they deserve, the appetite for the game is thrived.”
