Vietnam proposed to remove all tariffs for US imports after Donald Trump announced a 46% collection to Southeast Asia, a letter from the Vietnam Communist Party said on April 5.
The proposal was made by the LAM party leader in a letter to the US president, which was spotted by Bloomberg. In a letter, Lam asked the United States not to apply additional tariffs and fees on Vietnamese goods and asked to postpone the sale of the tariff announced by Trump last week, at least 45 days after 9 April.
The letter confirms Trump’s comments on Friday on his social network after the call between two leaders. Vietnam, who is increasingly becoming a key production and export alternative to China, was killed by one of the highest tariffs worldwide last Wednesday.
