Rome – King Charles III and Queen Camilla met in the Tuesday of the Italian President Sergio Mattarel, the second day of the visit to Italy, which marks his first overseas journey because he was briefly hospitalized for the side effects from the treatment of cancer.
Charles and Camilla accompanied in Quirinale Palace per group of mounted presidential guards and greeted Mattarella in the palace’s yard.
The royal visit was also celebrated with a common crossing with the President Palace of the Italian Airon Aeron, known as Frecce Tricolori, and RAF’s red arrow.
Mattarella will host a state banquet for British monarchs on the QUININAL PALACE on Wednesday night, which also marks the 20th wedding of royal couples.
King Charles will also meet the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday, before he deals with a joint session of the Italian parliament in the afternoon, the first time that British Monarch did it.
In Rome, Charles will highlight close relationships between Britain and Italy, two NATO alliances, at a time when European nations work on strengthening the support for Ukraine.
Charles and Camilla’s three-day visits will include a side trip to Ravenna, on Thursday for the Northern Region Emilia Romagna, in the marking of the 80. Anniversary of the Adriatic city by the Allied forces.
Royals will celebrate the cuisine of the region and meet local farmers who are relaxed by floods that have recently hit the area.
“The visit to Italy will underlined the depth and width of bilateral relations,” said the Royal Palace in the statement.
