Top 10 2025 nfl edges of free agent: Khalil Mack still star?

Our weekly series on an agency without the NFL is switched to defense, starting with the premium position that the league pays conveniently: Edge Rushers. This 20-Top 10 plus list is 10 more names for watching a veterans gamma that can retire to young Pass-RUHERS young people barely 25 and exit from their rookie contracts.

A year ago, this was one of the deepest positions at the free agency – Danielle Hunter went to Texan,, Jonathan Greenard and Andrew van Ginkel to Viking and more. They all had two -digit bags with their new teams in 2024. How many players below can do the same with new teams this fall?

Here are the best 10 edges available at the free agency, with 10 more, which will also hit the open market.

10. Chaancey Golston,, Cowboys (69)

Golston had more bags in 2024 (5.5) than in the first three seasons in Dallas, entering the initial role after being a rotational player by that moment. He has played almost 800 shots in defense and 177 on special teams, so at least it will be a solid third edge for someone, a type of role that pays $ 6-7 million a year these days.

9. Azeez Ojulari,, Giants (66)

He was extremely underestimated, a situational edge that had six bags in just 11 games last season and had 22 bags in his career. There is no doubt that he has a speed and moves to the attacker. His question remains in the field. He did not play the full season since his rookie year (eight bags), and there was 22 out of 51 games in three years. The 24-year-old is currently rehabilitating the torn ligament in the toe and also had seas of calf, ankle and knees.

8. Demarcus Lawrence,, Cowboys (54)

He only played four games before the season ended up in September with his injured foot, but it is important to keep in mind that he had three bags and five QB hits in those games. This put him in front of his tempo bag from any of the last five years. Next season will be 33, so they probably won’t become a double -digit guy with bags again. When he is healthy, he is still a powerful defender, but this was the case only in two of the past four seasons.

7. Patrick Jones,, Vikingi (50)

Jones, 26, had five bags in the first four games of 2024, and ended with seven in the season. The only player in the NFL that played less than 500 defensive shootings and has more bags was Detroit’s Aidan Hutchinson. They are the Vikings Jonathan Greenard and Andrew van Ginkel back and promising novalia Dallas Turnerso they could let him walk at a free agency, leaving another team to find out what Jones could do with a greater role in 2025.

The thirty -year -old edge led Washington with 10.5 bags in 2024. The passage of passing can be productive in the mid-30s, so Fowler still has some gas in the tank. He also ran commanders with 28 attackers.

5. Dayo Odeyingbo,, Kolta (40)

Odeyingbo, 25, is a name you may not know. He had eight bags in the rotary role of 2023, and then only three as the starter 2024. There are four forced fumara in the last two years and is enough to interfere with being well paid for this new job, probably in $ 15 million a year or more.

But his reputation hit when he forced the trade on Jets, and then had a pointless retention and followed it with only one bag in 10 games. He is 30 now. Someone will pay him, but there is no guarantee that he can pick up where he stopped when he had 11 bags in 2023. There is a risk with big money that will surely require.

2. Josh sweat,, Orlons (9)

He had the perfect time with the performance of the MVP caliber in Super Bowl (2.5 bags), which has certainly attracted the attention of NFL teams. But he will also notice that these were his first bags in six games. Is rarely as dominant as well as against ChiefsBut he knows how to get to the attacker. He has had eight bags this season and has 33 in the last four years. He is not an elite edge, but the 27-year-old sweat is in the second level.

1. Khalil Mack,, Chargers (6)

Mack gave the presence of veterans and leadership for one of the best defenses in the league.
