Tiger Woods looks ready for another long magic away from PGA Tour -ai doubts the main season after his Achilles, former World No 1 confirmed, cracked.
Woods last competed at the Official Event of the PGA Tour in July – when he missed an outdoor cut – and played a limited schedule from a car accident in February 2021, which left him injuries to his dangerous career.
The 15-plow main champion was selected against playing in players on TPC Sawgrass, a leading event at PGA Tour, and Woods confirmed that he had undergone surgery on Achilles injury.
In a statement posted on social networks, Woods said: “As I started increasing my own training and exercise at home, I felt sharp pain in the left Achilles, which was considered to be ruptured.
“This morning, Dr. Charlton Stupen from the Special Surgery Hospital at West Palm Beach in Florida made a minimal invasive repair of Achilles tendon for a ruptured tendon.
“Now I’m back home and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.”
Woods’s latest injury is located on the opposite side of the body to where he suffered “significant” damage in the 2021 car accident, and the 49-year-old is now likely to miss the masters next month at Augusta National.
Dr. Stucken added in the statement: “The surgery has gone smoothly and we expect complete recovery.”
Another failure in Tiger’s career affected by injury
Woods made only 11 competitive starts from the 2021 car accident, struggling to fight the events during such a limited game schedule.
Last year he made a record 24th consecutive cut on the Masters, only to the 78’s card during the weekend, then went out early to all other three major.
Last September, Woods was subjected to a “successful” operation of “Back cramps and pain” surgery, and was not ready to compete at Hero World Challenge in December, although it appeared later that month – using a golf course – along with his son at the PNC Championship.
The 82nd PGA Tour winner is listed on the field playing at Genesis Invitational – a tournament hosting – in February before admitting that he was “just ready to” compete, after his mother’s death earlier in the month.
Woods presented in Seminole Pro -Meter – a long -lasting event at Seminole Golf Club – March 3 and competed for Jupiter Links GC in the TGL inaugural season, where he discovered on March 4th that “the heart is not in practice right now”.
He added that it was only the third time that night that he touched the golf club that month, while jugging by mourning his mother’s obligations at PGA Tour, and Woods was facing an extended magic on the side.
Woods has yet to be confirmed when he can return to action. Masters are held in Augusta National from April 10 to April 13, and the PGA Championship in May, US Open in June, and openly rounding the men’s main season in Royal Portrush from July 17 to 20.
