The three -time world champion Speedway Tai Woffinden was transferred to the hospital after a “very serious” collision in Poland.
The 34-year-old, the most challenging Speedway runner, is understood to be treated at the Krosno hospital after being involved in a collision with three riders while racing for Rzesszow.
Woffinden tangled with his teammate Franciszek Majewski and collapsed for the first time, and the meeting was then abandoned after being transferred to the hospital.
Polish reports claim that the 34-year-old broke his femur and both hands in the incident.
“Our rider, Tai Woffinden, had a very serious accident during the seventh race in the sparring in the canopy,” he read a post on the official Facebook page of RZESZOW.
“Tai was transported to Rzeszów with a helicopter, where his condition is now diagnosed with doctors. Detailed information will be provided after the test.
“We would like to thank (the crown president) Grzegorza Leśniak for his fast reaction to the accident of our rider and for giving him all the help. So, we stand with you!”
Woffinden was born in Scanthorpe just returned to the bicycle after the 2024 season ended up a broken elbow nine months ago.
“Sheffield Speedway is aware of the racing collision, which included Tai Woffinden in Poland this afternoon,” Sheffield Speedway said.
“Out of respect for Tai and his family, we decently ask supporters not to react or share rumors.
“We will give fans an official update when it is appropriate.”
