Rangers striker Kirsty Howat won the SWPL Moon player award for March.

The 27-year-old picked up the award for the first time this season after scoring four goals in an unrivaled month for Jo Potter.

Rangers took seven points from a possible nine and remained in the title, sitting one point behind the common leaders of Glasgow City and Hibernian.

Scotland International, who also scored a hit because Rangers kept Sky Sports Cup 5-0 against Hibs, beat Aberdeen’s Jessica Broadrick, Hannah Jordan of Spartans and midfielder Hibsa Linzi Taylor.

Hamilton’s Sophie Townley scored seven goals in March

Sophie Townley wins the SWPL 2 award for the second time this season, as the Hamilton Accies extended the lead at the top of the table.

The wing, borrowed from the Rangers, scored seven goals in March, including four in winning against Ayr United.

Townley won the award award on the eve of Olivia Hurrell and Jade Wilson of Gartcairn.
