Colorado Buffaloes striker Sherder Sanders and Notre Dame Combat Irish QB Riley Leonard are two of the upper QBs who remained on the Committee after the second day of the NFL 2025 drawing. Five QB was recorded in the first three rounds of drafts: Cam Ward, Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough, Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel.
Throughout the draft, the biggest debate was why Sherder Sanders fell. Once one viewed as a almost guaranteed first round, it has now dropped out of the first three rounds. As for Riley Leonard, he was never expected to be elected in the first two days and always considered him a likely choice in the late circle.
Despite the various positions that enter the draft, Sanders and Leonard are in the same position by entering the third day. As a result, it is reasonable to question why Sanders was rated so much more than Leonard before the draft. Here are the statistics of each player last season and throughout their career in college.

Riley Leonard statistics
Riley Leonard Transferred to Notre Ladies last season after three seasons in Duke. He had a solid season while led by combat Irce to a national championship match. He completed 269 of 403 passing attempts for 2,861 Jards and 21 TDS.
He also rushed to 906 meters and 17 Touchdown 2024.
Although Leonard was consistently strong last season, he did not set horrible numbers like Sanders or other top QBS.
However, his clutch game could be interested in some NFL teams. Leonard had two of his three best games of the season in the last two College Football Playoff games. It is the type of X-factor of NFL teams that often seek in the later draft circles.
