The fast bowlers Mark Wood was switched off for four months after the knee surgery, the Cricket of England and Wales announced.
Wood manages a constant knee problem for over a year, but has experienced increased rigidity and discomfort during the English ICC champion Trophy Group Metch against Afghanistan in Lahore last month.
Wood will now miss the beginning of the English Cricket of Summer, but the target to return to Full Fitness by the end of July.
“I am instructed that I have been in all formats since the beginning of last year,” Wood said.
“But I have every confidence that I will return to all the cylinders now that I was able to solve my knee.
“I want to thank the surgeon, the doctors, the staff, my teammates and coaches from England for their support – and, of course, to our fans. I can’t wait to come back and contribute to what will be huge 2025 for us as a team.”
