Luke Littleler revealed his preparation to hit a brilliant nine-dodge while winning the seventh Premier League night in Cardiff was “a week of free week.”
Littler came to perfection in the fourth part of the finals against Michael Van Gerwen, and hit two in the 180s and then the T20, T17 and D15 to send the already wild Cardiff crowd in anger.
The ruling world champion then finished the match in a 6-4 win and requested his third night win of the 2025 Premier League, adding wins on the night of two in Glasgow and Night Five in Brighton.
It is the third nine Premier League 2025 pistols. After both Luke Humphries and Rob Cross hit nine legs in Brighton.
Although Littler seems only getting better and better in the Premier League, with an 18-year-old who is now clearly at the top of the table, he claims that he does not need much preparation to hit his best.
“I played very well,” Littler said Sky Sports.
“I haven’t picked up my darts since last Thursday – I had a holiday week. But to come here and win and be six points, I’m comfortable.
“All players have to rest and after the show tonight, I’ll have another week of rest!
“I just want to get to O2 faster (for May’s play-offs).
“I put myself in a really good position and I want to finish not 1. Last year I didn’t want to 1, this year I want to try to stay there. Tonight I was pleased with my couples, but more is coming.”
For Sky Sports Darts’ Laura Turner, it was “scary” to hear that Littleler reaches such a height with a lack of practice and just shows how much more gears will have while his career continues on his astronomical trajectory.
“It’s scary to hear that Littleler still has more levels. He looks so relaxed, laughing in places, giggling with a crowd,” Turner said.
“It will stop, not only in the Premier League, but also in all tournaments.
“As for Van Gerwen, he got stuck in the match and almost perfectly timed him. He should take a lot from this finals. He showed why he is the champion.”
