Liam Smith wants to shoot in revenge by Chris Eubank JR -Ui watching the fighting trilogy between Para if Saturday night she went to the plan.
Smith suffered defeat to stop in the 10th round of a significantly improved EUBANK JR in his September 2023, after knocking out his British rival eight months earlier.
The 36-year-old was supposed to return to the ring against Josh Kelly last September before withdrawing from the fight due to illness.
Now he should face Aaron McKenn on the root of EUBANK JR’s showdown against Conor Benn on Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
“I think there is probably a few reasons I am on this card,” Smith said Sky Sports.
“I think Chris did not want me on this card, but I am on it, maybe if one of the main events fighters is injured, I was probably the best name for reinforcement and entry.
“We know with the Riyadh season, he just wants really good fights and dance partners. If I win, and the main event is a little one -sided and there is no rematch, then I’m an option for the winner.
“I think there are several reasons why I’m on the card.”
Smith was visibly far from his best during his second meeting with EUBANK JR, but later it will not be a pronunciation of his performance in the night or preparations that have interfered with the failure of the injury.
He remains led by loss and asks for the opportunity to correct things as he continues to overthrow the questionnaires about what he has left his motivation in his last years of his career.
“If I wasn’t motivated, I wouldn’t be here, I wouldn’t be in the form I had, especially after the terrible injury I had,” Smith added.
“The same question asked Callum (Brother Callum Smith) about the desire. That is irrelevant.
“Return to a loss from Chris is all the motivation I really need. I last was in the ring in a competitive fight, I was terrible.
“That loss eats me every night because I didn’t get the opportunity to do it. For some reason, I stopped at 1-1, Lyndon Arthur and Anthony Yarde get their trilogy, I don’t understand why I didn’t.
“It comes to me to prove that I came back, there were reason behind that performance.”
Smith’s opponent McKenna arrives perfect 19-0 as a professional, and a younger man at the age of 25, while he fights for the first time in July last July last July last July last July.
For all the potential of McKenne, Smith plans to count his ring experience.
“I look at him, I’ve had a few over the years,” Smith said. “Get back to the fight against Anthony Fowler (in October 2021). They asked me the same question:” You were at the top, what kind of desire you got? ‘
“I remember that there were six 154 on that card on that card, I said that you could reconcile me with any of them, it is a competitive fight for four, five, six rounds, and then sympathy, ability, experience goes into it.
“This will not be different. It will start very quickly, it will be a game, competitive, but when the fight calms down and the capacity and the experience shows that I will be too good for Aaron.”
Chris Eubank vs Conor Benn will be live on Saturday 26. April on Sky Sports Box Office. Book immediately!
