Lewis Hamilton rejected proposals that he may have lost his faith in Ferrari after a double disqualification of the team in China as a “complete garbage”.
After joining the Italian team to the Mercedes Blockbuster, Hamilton ended up his debut at Australia, and then asked for a girl’s victory in the Chinese Grand Prix Sprint, but was then disqualified from the whole race a day after taking over the Kariran flag in six.
The sevenfold world champion in Australia would end more if it was no expensive strategic invitation to stay on dry tires in wet conditions, while his disqualification in China was a consequence of excessive spending on SF-25 board.
In an interview with the media on Thursday, for the first time since his disqualification in China, Hamilton said, “After that, I don’t really feel frustration. That’s what it is. Of course, we went through everything.
“I was at the factory on Wednesday and there were a lot of learning. We take the highlights and downs as a team.
“Obviously, this is not what everyone has worked hard on the race weekend. No team, nor engineer and mechanic puts all efforts for something like that.
“I would say that the most impressive thing was how the team took, how they worked, how they made their way through the data and that the most important thing is how we progress.
“I saw that someone said something about whether I was losing my faith in the team, which is completely garbage. I have an absolute 100 percent faith in this team.”
‘I never expected to win the race first’
The union of the most famous driver and team in sports resulted in huge amounts of hype in the weeks that led to the season 2025, but Hamilton insisted that he never expected current success.
He said: “Obviously there was a huge amount of hype at the beginning of the year, and I don’t know if everyone expected us to win Rase 1 and win the championship in the first year, but that was not my expectation.
“I know I’m going into a new culture, a new team and it will take time.”
Speaking Sky Sports F1 Later on Thursday, Hamilton repeated his faith in the director of the team Ferrari Frederic Vassur.
“I really spent the past few months just trying to observe the way this team works – it’s just different from what I’ve experienced,” he said.
“Every team was different – McLaren was different, Mercedes was again different from McLaren, and again here.
“So, just watching and watching where I can contribute and what I can bring to the table. There are areas we have to rise, but I think Fred has a great approach.”
Hamilton also discovered the terms of his departure from Mercedes – after 12 seasons with Silver Arrows – prevented him from presenting himself in December after the season at Abu Dabi, who gave drivers the opportunity to test new tires for the first time 2025.
This, along with the problem of the last day of preseason testing in Bahrein, prevented it from gaining long -term experience at new compounds.
He said, “And, again, I didn’t expect to come straight to the season and win the race 1 – but a sincere Sprint race was a real bonus.
“It was the first time I actually worked on any of the tires in the long run, and then, in the race, I was the first time I actually drove the C2 tire.”
