Thomas Tuchel says his mission is to build a team around Jude Bellingham, which brings the best of one of England’s best players.
After appointing a permanent successor to Gareth Southgate in October, Tuchel began his life in charge of three lions with the winning of the World Cup qualification against Albania on Friday night.
The entire scorer of all time of England, Harry Kane, 70 English goal, complemented Lewis-Skelly’s fine opener, while the young man Arsenal met a beautiful Bellingham passage over the defense with a smart ending.
Tuchel knows that Real Madrid midfielder is “key” to England’s success, but thinks the 21-year-old has not always been able to fully show his splendor for three lions.
“He is a key player for us and will be a key player,” said New England chief coach. “Now our job is to find a structure and space to make the most of it.”
Bellingham was extraordinary in Tuchel’s first game against Albania.
The passage to set up a Lewis-Skelly for the starting goal was the Exalted, and twice refused a goal because of the good savings of goalkeeper Albania Thomas Strakosh.
However, Tuchel worries that England could rely too much on its talisman.
“He had a few prominent moments, but sometimes he felt he was trying to do too much,” Tuchel added.
“I think he’s always ready to give everything. I think we need to help him in a structure that he can play more economically and still have the same influence, or maybe even greater influence.
“We have to make sure that the leaders, the main players, the key players enter the same direction and play in the same rhythm and help each other, and may be played a little more disciplined to save a little energy for decisive moments.”
‘Bellingham Key player for England’
Tuchel has already told his players that they want to be more honest and more critical of each other, to raise standards and give English that extra advantage that he thinks he can help them win the 2026 World Cup.
Bellingham is one of the loudest players in England, and Tuchel doesn’t want to change that.
In fact, he invited the rest of the team to be better communicators both on and off the field.
Bellingham sent judge Jose Luis Munuer Montero last month when Madrid drew 1-1 with Osasun. The judge said in his report that Bellingham swore at him.
Tuchel has to keep in mind that Bellingham has to control his emotions, but he is unwavering that he does not want to lose any passion or the wish of the 21-year-old to win.
“He seems to talk to his older players, teammates, referee … and coaches, I’m sure.
“Yes, the judge, he likes to talk to the judge and line’s persons. He is a very emotional player after he is on the field and I think you just see that he hates lose and do everything he needs, and he expresses himself, and you see only hunger and desire to win.
“Sometimes I think they will keep this hunger and learn to channel emotions a little and that’s never a problem.
“It’s good to have it as it is and we’ll try to get the most out of it, because, as I said, for me, a key player for us.”
Tuchel rockets change for Latvia
In the meantime, Tuchel is ready to turn against Latvia on Monday, as the New England chief looks like to juggle tired legs and make the most of his limited options with players.
Anthony Gordon, who got off the bench against Albania, is a major suspicion of a hook problem scanning on Saturday, when players just need to worry about recovery while Tuchel is diverted to the next task.
Asked if he looked at the rotation against Latvia, Tuchel said, “Yes. I think we had heavy legs.
“I even felt us a little tired, so of course, we will take the opportunity to check who is available and we have some good, good players on the bench, who have come today or have not played, so we have our options.
“But I have a lot of confidence in all 22 players, plus four goalkeepers, and from there let’s go.
“We have a whole day of recovery for everyone (Saturday). Everyone deserves it, because everyone trained at a high level and played the match together, so tomorrow is the recovery day and on Sunday, we take care of Monday.”
70 doesn’t go out – Kane decided to extend the record of the goal of England
The English record goalkeeper Kane is still hungry more after the 70th time on Friday.
The 31-year-old continued his extraordinary scoring record for his country, scoring a significant goal in his 104th appearance.
Kane said before the game that he felt that people were “bored” because of his skill, but warned that there was a lot more.
“I’m just happy. It’s a little taken out of context,” he said.
“I know fans appreciate everything I do and love to see me outside in a T -shirt in England.
“It’s been almost 10 years since my debut in England and I enjoy how much my first camp. I like to be here, I like to be on Wembley.
“I feel comfortable in this team and in this environment. Number 70, it’s a great achievement, but I hope a few more will come.”
