FIA announced that Johnny Herbert will not serve as a F1 driver host from the 2025 season.
The F1 Government Authority said that the two parties “agreed mutually” that the role that Herbert won – which won the three grand prize race during its 160th career between 1989 and 2000 – when he was a host in the F1 events “incompatible” with his work in His media work.
“Unfortunately, we announce today that Johnny Herbert no longer fulfills the F1 driver’s position for FIA,” read the statement.
“Johnny is widely respected, bringing in invaluable experience and experience.
“However, after the discussion, it was agreed mutual that his duties as a host from FIA and the accuracy of media critics were incompatible. We thank him for his service and we wish him success in his future endeavors.”
The former driver presented his views about F1 in the media across different outlets during the 2024 season, with his views about Max Versaben’s controversial leadership in Mexico last October, which appears in a column of the betting site after this race.
Herbert was on the referees committee of four people who handed Versabne 10 seconds in Mexico to engage with its opponent Lando Norris.
The Verstapen and his father, Jos, later responded to the critical views of Herbert, with the latter’s use of a later column to defend his right to express FIA.
The existing referees from F1 in Grands Prix included a former driver since 2010. Herbert has last appeared in Sao Paulo GP in November.
