On Friday, Japanese Prime Minister Shiger Isibr said that Donald Trump’s views at tariffs were “difficult to understand” after the US president announced 25% of imports and parts.

Just a few weeks after Ishiba and Trump are obviously friendly talks, duties have come the main blow to Japan, one of the closest economic and strategic allies in Washington. The second day on Friday’s shares of Japanese cars sank.

“What President Trump says is something that there are friends and enemies and friends can be more difficult. It is very difficult to understand,” Isib said during the legislative committee session.

Announcing new tariffs for a vehicle – next week, Trump said that this week in the White House, that America’s trading partners “accept our work while taking our wealth while taking a lot of things.”

“They took so much from our country, friend and enemy. And frankly, a friend was often worse than the enemy,” he added.

The measures have caused embarrassment to the US allies.

Canada responded with anger to Trump’s tariff, which could devastate the nation’s car industry, and Prime Minister Mark Carney announced an era of deep bilateral relations.

For Japan, Ishiba warned: “The impact that will have on the Japanese economy will be extremely significant. There is nothing that can be obtained by entering a big struggle for it. We will explain logically (Washington).

“The fact is that they realize that imposing such high tariffs on Japan will not bring much benefit to the United States.”

Each of the 10 Japanese jobs is tied to the automotive industry.

On Thursday, Isib said Japan was considering a “appropriate” response to tariffs.

“We believe that current measures and other extensive trade restrictions on the US government can have a significant impact on economic relations between Japan and the US, as well as the world economy and multilateral trade system,” said Government spokesman Yosimas Hayash.

Trump’s move is concerned about investors who were already on the verge of other tariffs he imposed, including on steel and aluminum.

In the afternoon, the Toyota plunged at 4.76%in Tokyo, Honda decreased by 4.77%, and Nissan lost 2.97%, continuing steep losses on Thursday.

At the same time, senior officials from South Korea, Japan and China were appointed in Seoul to discuss economic cooperation, AFP’s government source said on Friday.
