Differences between a Series NASCAR CUP car and an Indycar The car is quite obvious.
The stock of stock looks a little like cars people can drive on the street. His wheels do not stand outside the mud. A car with open wheels-S wheels that turn out-it looks much different and has a higher sound, thanks to a turbocharging engine opposite the NASCAR engine that is usually aspired.
The car, when it is properly placed, is one that often feels like a driver and a potential wreck should be waved. The best drivers get it on that edge.
The car with open wheels is leading on the edge, but maybe not to the point where the driver is as uncomfortable as he would be in stock. Because when these cars crack, there are not many savings.
Now the difference between Indycar -Ai Formula One car? It’s a little tinted.
So we asked the driver McLaren (and defended the winner of the Grand Prix from St. Petersburg) Pato O’wardwho tested the Formula One car in December and is ready to start his 90th. Indycar this weekend.
“Two different beasts,” O’ward said. “Formula 1 is very difficult only because of the side GS and the longitudinal GS. I would say that Indycar is an extremely heavy body because it is not a power steering.
“Somehow you are like a bear wrestling with Indycar. F1 seems a little gentler.”
Here are a few more specifics about each of the cars:
Nascar: Car with cups in Indianapolis goes 180 mph, and on some other traces you get up 200 mph. It is a normal aspired engine of 358 cubic inch racing at 670 horsepower. It has an inter -air meal of 110 inches, a width of 78.6 inches and a height of 50.4 inches and weighs 3,200 pounds without a driver. The series works primarily on ovals, with five permanent road courses and one street paths.
Indycar: Cars reach 240 mph in Indianapolis with their 2.2-liter, V-6 hybrid engine, which creates 650-700 horsepower. And drivers can get an additional 120 horsepower with push-to-pro-propelio and hybrid systems (that it is 120 hp if they are activated at the same time). It works on Etanol (NASCAR and F1 use flawless fuel). The interstitial meal is 117.5-121.5 inches and weighs 1.635-1,785 pounds without driver, depending on the trail. The width is 75.75-76.5 inches with a height of 40 inches. Indycar is primarily competing on street and road courses with a handful of ovala.
Formula 1: These cars last 230 mph, but run only on street or road courses. Their turbocharged 1.6-liter V-6 engine produces 1,000 horsepower (800 from the engine and about 160 from its hybrid recovery system). The interstitial meal is much larger than other cars because it is 142 inches. Cars weigh 1,752 pounds without a driver, with a height of 37.4 inches and a width of 78.74 inches.
