New Delhi – India celebrated its seventy -seventh day on Sunday with a colored show that displays its military strength and cultural diversity in a street in the heart of the country’s capital. The Indonesian President was the guest of honor.
Tens of thousands of people lined up on the road on the morning of the cold Sunday to watch the long show to celebrate the anniversary of the official adoption of the Indian constitution on January 26, 1950, after nearly three years of independence from the British colonial rule.
Soldiers of the army and the military portfolios in India walked alongside their teams, as well as the country’s leaders and other guests. Various floats showed the cultural diversity of India with one displays the Maha Compe Festival, which is the huge Hindus Festival, which describes as the largest religious gathering in the world.
The show was held on Rajpath Avenue Street, which was built by former British rulers in India and lined up by huge promoters, channels and rows of trees. Avenue was redefined as part of the seventy -fifth anniversary celebrations of Indian independence and called KartavayAPATH, or Boulevard of Duty, in 2022.
Indonesian President Prabo Sobinto attended the event as a great guest and was moved by the President and the Indian Prime Minister. A march from 342 members and a march from the Indonesian National Armed Forces joined the show, the first time that the ASEAN forces joined any foreign procession.
India traditionally invites foreign leaders to watch the scene. French President Emmanuel Macron was a guest of honor last year, and former US President Barack Obama watched in 2015. Ten leaders of Southeast Asia watched the show in 2018.
Sukarno, the first president in Indonesia and leader of the country’s independence struggle, was the main guest at the first celebration of the Republic in India in 1950.
Thousands of men and women played in colored fashion marches, performed traditional dances and pulled motorcycles during the show for 90 minutes. Defense equipment and military systems that were built locally in India, including tanks, pedestrian combat vehicles, radar systems and missile systems.
About 5,000 artists, carrying traditional pillars such as spears, swords and drums, have more than 40 dance models of different parts of India in a cultural performance that lasted about 10 minutes. The show is extravagant by the Air Force fighters, including Rafale aircraft, transport planes and helicopters.
The show was broadcast live by TV networks. The marches of the Republic’s Day also occurred in government capitals and other cities throughout India amid huge security arrangements.
