Governor of Illinois J. B. Packer signed a trade agreement with Mexico – usually known as Edomex to distinguish it from the country as a whole – during a trip to the country on Monday, aimed at deepening economic cooperation.
Packer headed the delegation Government officials and business heads for a trade mission to Mexico, where he signed a supplement to the Illino-Mexico-Mexico memorandum, as well as the Governor of Mexico Dolphin Gomez Alvarez.
The Packer’s office confirmed the digital Fox News that the MS is not a mandatory agreement between two or more sides that express their intention to cooperate between Illinois and Mexico, one of the 31 states that make up Mexico.
“Mexico has been an important partner of Illinois for decades, and I proudly stood next to Governor Gomes Alvarez, and claiming the importance of these permanent relations,” the Packer said in a written statement. “More than if -earlier, we must reassure our neighbors in Mexico that Illinois will remain a beacon of economic and cultural cooperation and opportunities for our people.”

The agreement focused on bilateral trade in production, agriculture and finances between Illinois and Mexico at a time when US trade relations with Mexico became strained under the president Donald Trumpwhich threatened the country tariffs.
The agreement is also aimed at strengthening supplies, investment in electronic real estate and agricultural technology, as well as the promotion of “strategic alliances” between state government agencies, universities and research centers, the Pritzker office reports. It states that one more attention was paid to effective and sustainable water consumption and biotechnology that can lead to “pure water”.
