Grand National: Celebre D’Allen dies for days after collapsing near the Aintree’s final line; Jockey Micheal Nolan forbade a ride

Grand National Runner Celebre D’Allen died after collapsing during the last stages of the exhibition race in Aintrea.

His rider on Saturday, Micheal Nolan, handed over a 10-day suspension by the Rasadey manager after questioning his decision to continue driving Celebre D’Allen after jumping to the penultimate fence.

The thirty -year -old horse, trained by Philip Hobbs and Johnson White, remained in Aintree overnight on Saturday before returning to Hobbs and White stopped for further treatment.

In a statement on Tuesday, Hobbs and White said: “We divided the heart that Celebre D’Allen had passed away.

“He received the best treatment by veterinary teams and improved. However, he got worse last night and couldn’t save himself. He was a wonderful horse and we all miss us all.”

The BHA Stewards report on Nolan’s driving on Celebra D’Allen was: “It is an investigation to consider whether Micheal Nolan, Celebra D’Allen, continued in the race when the horse seemed to be gone and obviously lost the soil after the second long stove.

“The rider and a veterinary official were interviewed, and the interview recordings were reviewed. The rider was suspended for 10 days.”

Following the news of Celebre D’Allena, the executive director of BHA -e Brant Dunshea said: “We are all in BHA and we are sad to find out about the death of Celebra D’Allen after Saturday’s Grand National Randox. It was clear from Saturday afternoon just how much the horse intended for its connection today.

“As with all runners in Grand National, Celebra D’Allen has secured a thorough check on the racetrack. This health check includes a triple, a physical examination of the limbs to check any heat, pain or swelling and listening to any forest or rhythm disorder.

“This indicates the last step in an extensive check procedure to ensure the suitability of a horse for a race in Nacional, which includes an overview of veterinary records and assessment of horses and a race expert. As part of this process, the horses would also be their own veterinarian twice.

“Celebre D’Alen received treatment from a team of expert veterinarians after retiring and then crashed at the end of the race. He was immediately attended by teams on the spot, his days he needed to respond to treatment on the course before being transported to first -class veterinarians on the state of the UU. He showed an improvement on Sunday.

“BHA and Aintree’s racetrack will analyze the race and this incident in detail, as is the case every year and with any fatal injury in any race. This will include a horse sent in Post-Murm.

“The process of reviewing each death is allowed to upgrade to our existing data and help us to understand that all the reasonable risk of avoidance can be reduced to make our horses and riders as safer as possible.
