Port-au-Prince, Haiti – Gangs attacked another city in Haiti The central region, killing at least four people, including a 11-year-old child, human rights activist, told the Associated Press on Monday.
At least 15 other people were injured by shooting, and more than dozens of homes burned in Petite Rivière, Bertide Horace, a spokesman for the Commission for Dialogue, Reconciliation and Consciousness to save Artibonite.
The attack began on Thursday, but the police were still wrinkled from the gang members on Monday, she said in a telephone interview.
Horace shared the horrible videos that showed people receiving treatment for heavy wounds in the local hospital.
Before she could provide additional details, Horace warned that the city was attacked without power. Her cell phone was then interrupted.
The National Police spokesman did not immediately return a comment request immediately.
Petite Rivière is the latest community in a once quiet artibota region that gangs targeted.
At the end of March, gangs hit the city of Mirebalais and stormed a local prison, releasing more than 500 prisoners. They also attacked the nearby town of Sauta D’Eau, considered a holy place that attracts thousands of haids for water-catholic pilgrims every year.
While gangs control at least 85% of the port-a-prince, Haiti capital, they launched attacks in the central region in the country in recent years.
Monday, Chrisla, a powerful leader of the Banda Te Bois, announced a three-day strike in the neighborhood of the Port-au-Prince, who was an innocent of any presence of the government, because the gang was taken control over him in recent years.
He ordered that public transport and private companies closed, saying that only hospitals and firemen are authorized to work.
Chrislala also said he wanted a new haiti “so that we can all sit in the same table to reconcile this nation.”
Haiti Government leaders have repeatedly said that they do not negotiate with gangs or include them in any discussions aimed at stabilizing the problem country.
A Mission that supports without support led by Kennian police who started last year to help the Haitian police in Quell violence fought in the fight against gangs.
Last year, more than 5,600 people in Haiti were killed, and a gang violence leaves more than a million people of homeless.
