Former member of the Ryan Peake motorcycle gang admitted that he had changed his life after winning his place at this year’s open championship.

The Australian requested a win at a Millbrook resort in Queenstown, shooting in the last round of 66 to end for 23 years under Par to finish a fairy tale turn for a 31-year-old.

Peake’s victory comes after he served to attack five years in prison when he was part of a bike gang of rebels.

He did not have the necessary visa to travel to New Zealand to the tournament until the beginning of the week, and as a result, he arrived only on Tuesday before the first round on Thursday.

By winning the title, Peake earned a place at this year’s Open Championship, which is held in Royal Portres in July, live Sky Sports.

“I just changed my life. That’s what I do,” Peake said. “I want to be here and just play golf. The story is as it is, but I’m just playing here by playing golf.”

Peake played amateur golf at a young age and, during prison, contacted coach Ritchie Smith to ask if he wanted to play competitively.

“I always knew I could do it. It was only a matter of time when I wanted to do it,” Peake added.
