Effered Ajagba is convinced that his ‘power’ and ‘skills’ can tear down Oleksandra Usyk or Daniel Dubois.
Nigerian hopes to make his claim for a worldwide fight in the heavyweight category when Martin Bakole on Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs William Scull in Saudi Arabia took over May 4.
Ayagba is in a fight in Bakole in good shape after winning the last five fights since since Frank Sanchez defeated him in October 2021, and admits that his long-term goal challenge the title against the Unified Champion USYK or the owner of the IBF Dubois title.
“I don’t overdo it. I’m just focused on Martin Bakole first,” Ajagba said Sky Sports.
“After that, when I get a victory, then I will increase myself to fight with whom I want to fight the following. Whether it’s USYKO or Dubois.
“I have abilities, I have skills, I have power, everything to become a heavyweight champion.”
Ajagba: I look forward to Bakole
Bakole’s last struggle followed when he entered a two -day notice that he was fighting against Joseph Parker after Dubois retired due to illness, but the congenonic candidate suffered a loss in the second round.
Despite Bakole’s defeat, Ayagba insists that he is still careful about the threat represented by his opponent, who won like Jared Anderson, Tony Yok and Carlos Takak.
Asked if the defeat of Parker would stifle Bakole’s confidence, Ayagba said, “In my opinion, I don’t think so.
“I will not take that knockout he had (against Parker) to myself. I will have more confidence to fight Martin Bakole.
“I’m preparing for him (best).”
