PTPA, the Alliance of Independent Players who were based on Novak Djokovic in 2019. He said on Tuesday that after years of efforts, good faith for professional tennis reform, he was forced to take legal actions for the end of “monopolistic control.”
She said in a statement that, together with more than a dozen players, PTPA filed papers in New York Cours against ATP, WTA tour, the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
“Tennis is broken,” said Ahmad Nassar, the PTPA executive director, he told the statement. “Behind the glamorous veneer promoting, players are trapped in an unfair system that exploits its talent, suppress their earnings and jeopardizes their health and security.
“We emptied all the possibilities of reforms through dialogue, and the control bodies did not leave any choice but to seek out the courts. The repair of these system failures is not to save the tennis, to save the game and fans.”
In response, the ATP accused PTPA elections “division and distractions” and has no meaningful role in sports.
“We strongly refuse the premise of PTPA claims, we believe that the case will be completely without merit and will be vigorously defending our position,” ATP said in the statement.
“ATP remains dedicated to working in the best interests of the game – according to continuous growth, financial stability and the best possible future for players, tournaments and fans.”
WTA defended his record of a growing female tennis, describing a lawsuit as “impossible.”
“Any decision made at the WTA level includes the contribution of players through its elected committee representative, and the athletes receive significant financial awards and other benefits from participating in WTA,” Organization said.

“Big day for tennis”
Meanwhile, the Australian Tennis player Nick Kirgios believes that the lawsuit marks the “special moment” and that they heard the votes of high time.
Former Finalisti Wimbledon Kirgios, which is among the 12 currently and former players listed as prosecutors, along with the PTPA in the suit, said the group was determined to do something for the future of the game.
“I know that many players are not satisfied with the structures and everything that is currently happening in tennis,” Kyrgios said for Sky Sports.
“This will surely be a special moment in tennis.
“Things are needed to change. It’s a big day for tennis.”
PTPA was officially established by Novak Djokovic and Vasek Posisil in 2019. For player lawyers.
Popsil said PTPA talked to more than 250 players and had a lot of support, including the best players.
“ATP / WTA has spread so much fear for years that it is not easy to put your name on this public. The representative support for this initiative is indisputable,” he added.
While the associations of players are common in professional sports, tennis is different that players act as independent performers.
“We are the only sport in a world who do not have a player’s association. It was the first goal, for the players to hear,” Kirgios said.
“ATP just had so much power, no one need to show anything. There will be nothing to change, they will have to show things, how things work and then people really understand they really don’t understand.
“I don’t think the players are ultimately very satisfied with what they earn on tour compared to other sports and I think it’s definitely one of the main reasons.”
Describing the different control bodies as “cartel”, the PTPA, which has started and legal actions in the UK and the European Union, accuses them “artificial low compensation for professional tennis players” and impose the “ranking system that is forcing them on certain tournaments.
The action calls unsustainable, says players are playing in extreme fire and often in the early hours in the morning, that tennis balls that are selected tournaments factor in chronic injuries choose random drug tests.
Before submitting a lawsuit, PTPA said that in tour with a fulfillment of more than 250 players, including most male and female first 20.
