Teen armed with gun overpowered by passengers onboard plane

The passengers and crew members had to overcome a 17 -year -old child who had reached a plane with a rifle and ammunition in Australia.

This happened as the plane was ready to take off from Avalon Airport, near Melbourne, before a flight to Sydney on Thursday afternoon carrying about 160 people.

The police believe that the teenager arrived at the airport by breaching a security fence, before climbing the front steps to the plane.

The shots published by Outlet Australian Outlet 7NEWS showed suspected by a passenger, while a member of the ground crew and a pilot removed a interest belt containing tools carried by the suspect.

The pilot can also be seen kicking the gun away from the teenager, who wears a fluorescent jacket.

Victoria police said that the 17 -year -old, who is from the near -carat area, was detained in the reservation.

Supervisor Michael Reed told reporters that the passengers noticed that the teenager was carrying a pistol as he was taking the steps to the plane.

Sopt Reid said that the local force was in contact with the anti -terrorist police, but it was too early to create a motivation.

He said: “All I can do is remove the gun from the road … then put it in a grip and throw it on the ground until the police came.”

Police said that anyone was injured during the accident. Investigators have identified a car and two ownership bags for the near suspect.

Avalon Airport is presented exclusively by Jetstar, a budget -run budget company.

In a statement by the American BBC partner CBS News, the company said it is working with the authorities to investigate the accident.

“We know that this will be a very sad position,” said a statement. “We are loyal to customers who helped our crew safely manage the situation.”

Ary Souss, CEO of Avalon Airport, said the airport was reopened.
