On Tuesday, thousands of students from many universities in Istanbul met at Maçka Park and marched to şişli.

Istanbul’s authorities have banned protests and closed roads to “keep public order” and to prevent provocative behavior that may occur.

Many students admitted that they covered their face with scarves or masks and feared to be identified by the police.

“Are you preparing a big rally in a big plaza in Istanbul on Saturday?” Ozgur Ozel told the crowd.

“IMAMOGLU supports, opposes arrest, opposes the detention of each market. To require a transparent and open live trial, we want to say that we want to have enough and early elections.”
