DARMANIN and police chief Didier Lallement said in the first opinion of the problem that the dangerous crush of the stadium was largely owned by Liverpool fans.
This claim was later discussed in an independent report commissioned by the UEFA.

In another section of the interview, Darmanin said in France that “there is no more safe place.”
“What many French people can see is that (violence) is common and metastasized. It is no longer where potential problems are found.
“You can see that there are experiences in cocaine or cannabis in the smallest rural village these days.”
National Rally MP Jean-Philippe Tanguy pointed out that Darmanin has been in the government since the first election of President Emmanuel Macron in 2017.
