Cindy Ngamba will undergo surgery because he seems to return to complete training later in the year.
Ngamba starred in Paris in 2024 last summer, becoming the first athlete in the refugee team that has ever won an Olympic medal when she secured a medium weight bronze at Roland Garros.
She was ready to make her professional boxing debut in the historical account of all women at Royal Albert Hall last month.
But just the night before weighing, she was forced to withdraw from her eight car with Karstie Bakington, a devastating blow for a potential new star in Pro sports.
She found out she would need surgery, but she expects a positive outcome.
“Sometimes a trip takes unexpected turns,” Ngamba wrote in a post on social media.
“I was broken that I did not debut on the opponent on March 7th. Routin medical medicine revealed a problem that prevented me from competing.
“In the coming weeks, I will have surgery to correct things and return to complete training later in the year.”
She added, “This is just a failure, not the end of the road. The best chapters are just coming.
“Thank you all for your support. I’ll be back in action soon … stronger, sharper and ready to leave my mark.
“Always stay positive.”
