The federal judge permanently dismissed a criminal case against Eric Adams, New York City, a few weeks after the Trump administration ordered the prosecution to withdraw the charges.
This measure led to the resignation of Manhattan’s highest federal prosecutor who accused Adams for signing a contract with the Trump administration.
Judge Manhattan dismissed the incident as a prejudice. This means that the Ministry of Justice cannot revive allegations of Adams according to the same evidence.
ADAMS has been prosecuted as a bribery fee and bribery that requests conspiracy, fraud, and illegal campaign donation. He denied any fault.
ADAMS, which was accused in September, was claimed that Turkish citizens preferred a total of $ 100,000 (£ 75,000) of gifts.
Judge Dale Ho said in a Wednesday ruling that the Ministry of Justice did not oppose Adams’ consent for the permanent dismissal of the case.
Judge Ho said that in the future, the federal prosecution can revive the case, which depends on the ability to prioritize the immigration execution priority of the administration, and will be permanently dismissed because it will create an inevitable perception that it can be seen in the needs of the federal government than the wishes of their achievements.
In February, Attorney General Emil Bove ordered the New York prosecutor to withdraw the case with Adams.
But Daniele Sassoon, the former prosecutor of Manhattan, did not do so.
In a letter to the Attorney General of BOVE, BOVE’s boss, she proposed a “Quid Pro Quo” and Adams suggested that “can only help administrative policies if the prosecution is dismissed.”
Sassoon and six other high -ranking officials said they resigned through the debate and said there was no legal justification for dismissing the case of Adams.
Following the ruling, Alex Spiro, a lawyer at Adams, said, “The incident should never have been brought at first.” “From the 1st, the mayor has maintained his innocence and has now maintained justice to Eric Adams and New York residents.”
